Pacific Patients Celebrate Holi in India

New Delhi, March 1, 2026

In a vibrant celebration of culture and compassion, international patients from the Pacific Islands gathered to celebrate the Indian festival of Holi at Sri Mahal, an open party ground near Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi. The event was organized by Medivisor India Treatment to ensure that overseas patients undergoing medical care in India experience emotional warmth and cultural belonging alongside clinical excellence.

Patients from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and Fiji joined caregivers and the Medivisor team for an afternoon filled with music, rain dance, Indian delicacies, colorful decorations, and joyful festivities.

Maria, a patient from Papua New Guinea, described the setting warmly:

“The decorations were beautiful and full of life. The colors and open space made me feel like I was part of something special. It didn’t feel like I was far from home.”

The celebration truly came alive as patients began playing with colors — a central tradition of Holi symbolizing unity and new beginnings. Daniel from Papua New Guinea shared his excitement:

“When we started applying colors to each other, it felt like all barriers disappeared. We were not patients and doctors — we were just people celebrating together.”

As barriers dissolved in vibrant clouds of color, the celebration reached its most uplifting moment with an exuberant rain dance that seemed to wash away stress and anxiety. Lina from Vanuatu expressed:

“For a moment, I forgot about my treatment and just enjoyed dancing with everyone. It felt freeing and joyful.”

The culinary experience added another memorable dimension to the festivities. James from Solomon Islands noted:

“I really enjoyed tasting Indian sweets and traditional Holi snacks. The food was different from what we eat back home, but it made the celebration even more memorable.”

Beyond the festivities, the emotional reassurance of the gathering was deeply felt. Peter from Fiji reflected:

“Coming to India for treatment was stressful at first. But celebrating Holi here made me realize we are not alone. The Medivisor team made us feel like family.”

Addressing the gathering, Kumar Sushant, CEO and MD, Medivisor Group, emphasized the deeper purpose of the celebration:

“Our patients travel thousands of kilometers seeking healing. While India provides advanced medical care, true recovery also requires emotional strength, connection, and hope. Holi symbolizes renewal — and for our patients, it represents a fresh beginning in their healing journey.”

The event aimed to reduce emotional stress, promote cross-cultural understanding, and strengthen bonds between international patients and their healthcare teams. Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, celebrates positivity, unity, and new beginnings — values that resonate deeply with patients far from home.
