Dr. (Col.) Joy Dev Mukherji is a highly distinguished neurologist with over 28 years of profound clinical and academic experience. Currently serving as the Vice Chairman and Head of the Department of Neurology at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, he is recognized as one of India's foremost experts in neuro-immunology and stroke care. His career is characterized by a transition from elite military medical service to a leadership role in one of the country's premier private healthcare institutions.
Dr. Mukherji is a leading specialist in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), having received advanced, specialized training in Switzerland. He is expert in the management of autoimmune conditions where the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) of nerves. By utilizing the latest disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) and advanced MRI protocols, he provides comprehensive care that significantly improves long-term outcomes and quality of life for patients with MS and other demyelinating disorders.
A veteran of the Armed Forces Medical Services, Dr. Mukherji served with distinction for 23 years before joining Max Healthcare in 2006. An academic powerhouse, Dr. Mukherji holds an MBBS (Gold Medalist), MD, DM from the prestigious PGI Chandigarh, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), Edinburgh. His clinical interests also include Movement Disorders (such as Parkinson’s disease) and the management of chronic Headaches.
