Dr. Ashok Seth is a towering figure in international medicine, currently serving as the Chairman of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and the Chairman of the Fortis Healthcare Medical Council. With a career spanning over 40 years, he has been at the forefront of cardiac care, combining his role as a master clinician with his passion for academic excellence as an Adjunct Professor of Cardiology at JN Medical College.
Dr. Seth is recognized for introducing life-saving technologies to the Asia-Pacific region. He pioneered advanced techniques such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL), and Impella-supported complex angioplasties. His clinical volume is among the highest globally, having performed more than 25,000 angioplasties and 60,000 angiographies—achievements that have earned him a place in the Limca Book of Records.
In recognition of his monumental contributions to healthcare, the President of India has conferred upon him the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Shri, and the B.C. Roy National Award.
