Dr. Tarun Kapur is a highly accomplished eye specialist with over 29 years of post-M.S. clinical experience. He is widely recognized for his vast expertise in performing advanced surgical procedures, particularly phacoemulsification for cataract treatment. In addition to his surgical skills, Dr. Kapur is deeply experienced in the comprehensive medical and surgical management of glaucoma and oculoplasty, ensuring high-quality care for a diverse range of ocular conditions.
Dr. Kapur’s career is distinguished by a strong foundation in premier medical institutions and extensive private practice. He completed a three-year senior residency at the Guru Nanak Eye Centre in Delhi between 1991 and 1994. For the past 19 years, he has been an active practitioner across several leading hospitals in South Delhi, including Apollo Hospital, Fortis Vasant Kunj, and Rockland Hospital. His specialized clinical background includes dedicated tenures in glaucoma clinics, eye banks, and keratoplasty units, as well as oculoplasty clinics during his formative professional years.
Dr. Kapur began his medical journey at the Maulana Azad Medical College, where he earned his MBBS between 1981 and 1985. He further specialized by obtaining his M.S. in Ophthalmology from the Guru Nanak Eye Centre and Maulana Azad Medical College in 1990. To stay at the forefront of surgical innovation, he underwent formal training in phacoemulsification at I Care, Noida, in 2001. His academic brilliance was recognized early in his career through the prestigious National Talent Search Scholarship and the Junior Science Talent Scholarship.
A respected member of the medical community, Dr. Kapur holds active memberships in the Delhi Ophthalmological Society, the All India Ophthalmological Society, and the Indian Medical Association. He has also contributed to medical leadership, serving as the Secretary for the Guru Nanak Eye Centre Alumni Association from 2010 to 2012. Furthermore, his interest in medical literature is evidenced by his former role as a Sub Editor for the Indian Medical Association, South Delhi branch, where he contributed to research papers and publications.
