Dr. Raman is a highly distinguished specialist in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgery and otorhinolaryngology with over 38 years of extensive clinical experience. He currently serves as a Consultant at Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bangalore, where he is recognized as a leading authority in complex airway and skull-base interventions.
He specializes in advanced surgical procedures, including pediatric airway surgery, endoscopic skull-base surgery, and cochlear implantation. Dr. Raman is a pioneer in the field, having served as a key architect in developing the Pediatric Airway and Tracheostomy Safety Module in association with the Children's Airway and Swallowing Center (CASC). His technical proficiency also encompasses otoplasty, ear reconstruction, and the management of congenital ear disorders.
As the Chief Architect of the Center for Otitis Media Research and Education (CORE), Dr. Raman is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of middle ear infections. He has authored significant medical literature on topics such as nasopharyngeal teratomas in neonates and smoke inhalation laryngotracheal injuries. His commitment to public health was further highlighted by his participation in national media forums to address critical health concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic.
An alumnus of Pune University and JSS Medical College, Mysore, Dr. Raman’s contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including a Silver Medal from the Chief of Air Staff. He has been invited to deliver guest orations at international medical assemblies in Karachi, Pakistan, and by the Society of Advancement of ENT in Children (SENTAC) in San Francisco, USA.
