Dr. Jamshed J. Dalal is a globally recognized cardiologist with over 40 years of experience following his DM in Cardiology. As a rare triple Doctorate holder—possessing a Doctorate in Medicine (MD), a Doctorate in Cardiology from Mumbai, and a PhD from the United Kingdom—he is considered a foundational figure in modern Indian cardiology. Currently serving as the Director of the Centre for Cardiac Sciences at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (KDAH), Dr. Dalal has been instrumental in establishing the cardiology infrastructure of Mumbai.
Dr. Dalal’s career is inextricably linked with the evolution of interventional cardiology in India. Having performed his first coronary angiography in the UK in 1978, he has since completed more than 20,000 cases.
In 1984, he was part of a select group of cardiologists who launched the first angiography programs in Mumbai, a service then available in only four hospitals.
He has been involved in coronary angioplasty since the procedure's invention, dedicating the last 20 years to teaching these life-saving techniques to physicians across India and China.
